We are recruiting

We are looking for a researcher with a keen computational interest to join our team of developers and analysts at CeMPA.

The appointee will help develop the microsimulation models maintained at CeMPA. Key areas of interest, in addition to computational modelling, are distributional issues (economic and health inequalities, socio-economic determinants of health), the economics of ageing, social policy (ex-ante and ex-post evaluation, macro-challenges to the welfare state), and life course analysis (including intergenerational redistribution).
The appointee will also help produce research outputs for publication and disseminate the result of research and scholarship through appropriate activities inside and outside academia, such as participating in relevant national and international conferences and engagement events. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to co-author papers and contribute to the development of the CeMPA research agenda.

The work will be centred around the SimPaths dynamic microsimulation framework developed at CeMPA. The post is funded by a number of projects including

SimPaths is an innovative dynamic framework for life course analysis, which integrates and extends the tax-benefit model EUROMOD/UKMOD. It focuses on the interaction between the family, work and health dimensions of individual life course trajectories, and it allows to study the medium- and long-term challenges to societal well-being and the constraints and opportunities faced by the welfare state.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-stage researcher to contribute to a fast growing research infrastructure. The post is initially funded for two years, starting on February 1 or as soon as possible afterwards, with the possibility of further extending the contract.

Application closing date is 15 December 2024. More information is available here.
